Definition
Why AdBlue storage is different
AdBlue is not fuel and it does not behave like fuel. It is a high-purity urea solution, and the SCR system it feeds is intolerant of contamination. Metal ions picked up from the wrong tank material are enough to do damage.
The consequences are expensive rather than inconvenient: SCR system failures costing $15,000 or more per vehicle, fleet downtime during repairs, emissions non-compliance and potential fines, and voided warranties on SCR components.
So the tank is built from approved materials throughout - 316 stainless internally, approved polymers for piping and valves, non-metallic seals to prevent ion contamination, and food-grade components to meet purity requirements. Temperature control stops it crystallising, and continuous monitoring confirms the purity is still there.
Sizing
Capacities and what they suit
AdBlue consumption runs at roughly a tenth of diesel, so size against the diesel burn rather than guessing.
| Capacity | Typically specified for |
|---|---|
| 1,000 - 2,000L | Small fleet operations |
| 5,000 - 10,000L | Medium transport companies |
| 15,000 - 30,000L | Large distribution centres |
| 50,000L+ | Bulk storage and supply facilities |
Construction
How it is built
Every wetted surface is chosen for what it will not leach into the product.

| Seals | Non-metallic, to prevent ion contamination |
| Components | Food-grade, meeting purity requirements |
| Temperature control | Heating and cooling to prevent crystallisation |
| Quality monitoring | Continuous purity testing |
| Dispensing | Contamination-free transfer |
| Documentation | Complete traceability |

Process
Installation and ongoing support
Our engineers start by evaluating your site conditions and requirements, then the system is specified to those exact needs. Certified installers handle the setup, and everything is tested and commissioned before handover.
Every installation is handed over with complete compliance certificates and operating manuals, which is what keeps the site audit-ready and the installation insurance-compliant. Professional engineering certification is available where a site or an insurer asks for it.
After handover we run annual compliance inspections, preventive maintenance programmes, emergency repairs, and upgrade or modification work, through an Australia-wide service network.
Applications
Where it is used
Any fleet running SCR-equipped vehicles at scale.
