Why containment is separate
A self bunded tank carries its own containment. Everything else on a fuel site does not - the dispensing area, the transfer point, the drum store, the delivery bay. Spill containment covers the ground those operations happen on.
The job is to stop a release reaching soil, stormwater or a watercourse. That means capturing it, holding it in materials that will not degrade, and giving you a controlled way to collect and remove it afterwards.
Detection systems provide early warning and can trigger an automated response, and the whole arrangement is designed to integrate with your emergency response procedures and the relevant environmental authorities.
