Agricultural timing is unforgiving. Planting and harvest windows are short, and equipment standing still because the fuel ran out costs more than the fuel would have.
So farm fuel storage is sized for peak season consumption rather than average, sited where the machinery works rather than where power happens to be, and specified to need as little attention as possible between those peaks.
